OPEN HOUSE TODAY, SATURDAY THE 14TH FROM 9-1!
Hi, we’re the Hall’s and we’re looking for a great family to live in a very special house. We know we’re biased, but this is quite possibly the best house in all of Frisco. Here’s a little bit about it…
First, it has a name: the Dow Baccus Home. That’s because it was originally built in 1905 by Dow and Winola Belle Baccus whose family first came to Collin County before Texas was a state. For every three wagon loads of lumber that arrived, Dow rejected two of them. This house has great bones with easily another 108 years left in it. You can read more about the history here.
Over time, the home has been upgraded to include all the modern conveniences without losing the historic charm. For instance, some wise person before us added indoor plumbing, but left beautiful claw-footed bathtubs. You can also pass through the butler’s pantry to get from the updated kitchen to the dining room, before retiring into the separate men’s and women’s parlors in the main house.
Main house? Well, in 2001 a backhouse or “Carriage House” was added almost doubling the total square footage of the property. Besides the 4-car garage, it includes a full separate apartment, plus an office and game room.
In recent years, we’ve added a few additions to make it more family-friendly. A basketball and pickleball court, 8-foot privacy fence with automatic gate, and tree house with zip line have made this house our family retreat inside the city.
So, you can see we love this house. However, we have some new adventures planned, and we’re looking for the right family to make this house their home.
Is that your family? Take a look at the photos, features, and history then give us a call and we’d love to show you around.
Thanks,
The Halls
